Insidia lich king1/13/2024 Sitting around doing 3 tries on a boss over many hours rather than consistently doing tries was very frustrating. Many of our best players played the game to be hardcore. In short, limited tries had a huge negative effect on the guild. What was it that made you lose your No.1 spot? I think it took around 6 months for it to really feel like 1 guild rather than 2.Īfter that initial period of dominance something changed in ICC and ToC. It was a strange environment though, and it took time to adapt to how the guild would be run for a lot of people and we had to balance the needs of both sides. We did very well there and I personally believe Mimiron was the highlight since we killed it a long time before any other guild and it had a very high personal skill requirement before the nurf compared to any other boss. As time went on the weak were weeded out and we ended up with a strong roster going into Ulduar. The first few months of the guild were pretty intense since there were around 46 members competing for 25 raid spots and a lot of extremely good players were sitting on the bench. As a result Mackzter and I approached Nessaj and Kungen about a merger and things went from there. We wanted to really make a good website and felt it would be very hard to do so with Nihilum around since the community would be very split then between the two places. SK didn't want to focus on PvE though, so we talked to the investors and they decided they would be interested in backing a new project. Well, in SK we were not that happy with our relationship with the organization and we had organized some new investment for them based on our recent PvE progress. While the merge itself at the beginning of WotLK is a well known event, the details around it, the integration of the guilds etc. Lucky for us Mek was around since the founding (with some notable breaks!) and agreed to clue us in on some of the less known stuff, as well as what's going on in the guild today, and Ekyu volunteered some of his screenshots from way back when. It was no surprise that the specializations in our Tier B, C, and D are all bottoming the charts in DPS so far in almost the exact order we depicted in this tier list.We figured it was time to do a full feature on our favorite guild, to get a centralized overview of what the guild is about, what it stands for and how it came to be. This is specialization was originally expected to excel especially in the first phase. One of the bigger surprises is that the Frost Death Knight is currently slightly above middle-of-the-pack, compared to the S-Tier from the original rankings. Regardless, it is excelling in the DPS department and has been moved into the S-Tier echelon. The Assassination Rogue is currently S-Tier as expected, though it is A-Tier on this list originally as we expected it to fall off in favor of Combat spec in later expansions when armor penetration is more widely available. We currently see Demonology Warlocks on top as the #1 DPS, basically matched by another familiar S-Tier face: Affliction Warlock. ![]() Update Note 11-8-2022: Now that over a month has passed since WotLK was released, we have more data available from Warcraftlogs to identify how things are shaping up. In addition to this, the composition of the group will also affect the maximum performance of any particular class. ![]() The most notable example of this is the lack of Armor Penetration in early stages of the expansion that hampers physical damage dealers. It's also worth noting that some specializations have gear dependencies at various stages of the expansion. The theoretical performance of a specialization in any given encounter varies depending on a multitude of factors such as shorter or longer duration fights, if the damage is largely single-target, cleave, or AoE, and if it favors ranged or melee classes more. ![]() Some specializations also perform better depending on the type of content they find themselves in. It's also important to factor in the relative difficulty to play each specialization to its fullest potential. We compare each specialization based on a number of key factors such as Single-Target, Cleave, and Area of Effect (AoE) damage as well as any Utility in the form of Buffs and Debuffs that add value to the group. This tier list ranks all DPS specializations for their performance across the entire expansion. Many players often choose to change specializations depending on the different phases of the expansion. All classes have at least one specialization that performs well at some point in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, so players shouldn't worry too much about their class choice. ![]() The majority of classes are middle of the pack in terms of performance, however, there are some obvious winners and losers throughout the expansion.
